By-Laws

ARTICLE I

The purpose of Madison Area Miniature Enthusiasts (MAME) is to serve the miniature collector and to promote the hobby of miniatures.  We are a non-profit organization.

 

ARTICLE II

The elected officers shall consist of  a President, Vice President (and Program Chairperson), Secretary, and Treasurer.  These officers shall be elected at the April meeting and take office in May of the same year.  The term of office shall be two years and officers may be elected to succeeding terms if they wish to serve.  Vacancies shall be appointed by seeking volunteers and by special election by the club members.

 

ARTICLE III

The President shall preside at all meetings of the club.  The President shall serve as liaison officer between the club and the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (NAME) or shall appoint a liaison officer.

The Vice President, in the absence of the president, shall assume the president’s duties and will also serve as Program Chairperson, to organize club meeting projects.

The Secretary shall keep a record of the club meeting and shall maintain a roster of members and planned activities of the club.  The Secretary shall prepare and mail/e-mail a monthly newsletter to each member.

The Treasurer shall collect dues from the members.  The dues shall be collected in January of each year.  The Treasurer shall keep an account of member’s dues paid.  The treasurer shall present a treasurer’s report to the club members at the end of each fiscal year (January meeting). 

The President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer have the option of being excluded from paying dues during their term of office.

 

ARTICLE IV

The Madison Area Miniature Enthusiasts shall have an unlimited open membership.  All members are encouraged to belong to the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (NAME).

By-Laws must be approved by membership vote and can be amended by a two-thirds vote of those present at a regularly scheduled meeting.

Local dues are regulated by majority vote at the December meeting.  Anyone joining the club after January shall pay pro-rated dues for the remainder of the year.

The election of officers and date of election must be reported immediately by the president or appointed liaison to the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (NAME).

The fiscal year of the club shall be from January 1 through December 31.

 

ARTICLE V

All books, records, and materials given to each officer are the property of the club and are to be surrendered at the expiration of the term of office or at the time or resignation.

In the event that the Madison Area Miniature Enthusiasts club disbands, all officers’ records shall be surrendered to the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts.  This insures that if the club is reestablished, the past history will be available.

In the event that the Madison Area Miniature Enthusiasts club disbands, the current treasurer shall be responsible for paying all outstanding debts to close our books officially.  The remaining amount in the treasury shall be given as a contribution to the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts.

In the event that the Madison Are Miniature Enthusiasts club disbands, any remaining records and materials shall be divided equally among the remaining members.

We are a social organization with a common interest in miniatures and these by-laws reflect that.
